Notes: We were searching for a selection from the Darjeeling region that fully represented the muscatel grape terroir the first flush selections were made famous for, and Avongrove has delivered. The estate has utilised the Ambari (AV2) cultivar, that is so ubiquitous in the area, and carefully managed its enzymatic oxidation to also bring out flavours of honeysuckle and chocolate. Hand-picked and carefully managed, this selection is, for us, what draws us to the intoxicating complexity of tea from Darjeeling.
