Notes: Shincha (trans. “new tea”) is not only the first new leaves of the year, but also a lighter roast profile than the “sencha” profile released later, highlighting this point in the harvest cycle with herbaceousness and florality.
This cultivar was created by blending pest resistant Z1 with aroma and umami rich saemidori. Due to its high yield and strength in competition, it is expected to replace the ubiquitous Yabukita in the long term.
