Truth and Dolphin
“Like Thom Yorke jamming with Leonard Cohen and Destroyer.”
– Reso Nation
Truth and Dolphin perform a style of slam poetry set to melodic folk rock. Originating in Victoria BC, their first album “Chronicles of Living Memory, Part 1” received radio play across Canadian university radio and public radio, making the top 10 for three months in Kamloops’ CFBX-FM. The band is tea merchant Jared Nyberg on vocals, visual arts painter and guitarist Steve Chmilar (former lead singer of 2000’s The Villain’s) on guitar, loop and back up vocals, and multi-instrumentalist and fellow songwriter Cory Christiansen on vocals, guitar and banjo. They are sometimes joined by Sister Speak’s Sherri Anne lending her vocals and guitar for select shows.

His musical endeavors have found him as part of ZuZu’s Petals and the Flowering Eyeballs, but this is his solo project.
“The delivery is authentic, and his ability to entrance with an acoustic and vocal with his emotion, melody, and frenetic command of his instrument is worth the price of admission.”
