Truth & Dolphin – Slam poetry-folk-rock

Steve Chmilar – Idiosyncratic Rock

Truth and Dolphin

“Like Thom Yorke jamming with Leonard Cohen and Destroyer.”
– Reso Nation

Truth and Dolphin perform a style of slam poetry set to melodic folk rock. Originating in Victoria BC, their first album “Chronicles of Living Memory, Part 1” received radio play across Canadian university radio and public radio, making the top 10 for three months in Kamloops’ CFBX-FM. With tea merchant Jared Nyberg on vocals, visual arts painter and guitarist Steve Chmilar (former lead singer of 2000’s The Villain’s) on guitar, loop and back up vocals, they are often joined by multi-instrumentalist and fellow songwriter Cory Christiansen, with Sister Speak’s Sherri Anne lending her vocals and guitar for select shows.

Steve Chmilar
Ideosyncratic, sometimes quirky original acoustic music by a former hard rock band frontman. Steve’s songwriting landed him Canadian radio hit “From The River” with his band The Villains and a songwriting award at Canadian Music Week. He currently lives in Sidney, BC where he delightfully paints every day to an ocean view and takes breaks with music jams.
