Peggy and her crew down at Beans & Greens Coffeeshop in Esquimalt have joined the maccha madness. They are serving a full maccha menu, complete with Maccha Lattes, Caps, Macchiatos, Americanos, and Traditional Maccha!

They have a nice and stylin Synesso machine and big smiles. Kid friendly and super cool, stop in and order up a maccha. Sit down and enjoy their delicious muffins, sandwiches, and everything else they quietly do magnificently well.

Buon Amici's Coffee Finds Nirvana

Buon Amici's Coffee has made the switch to our Maccha Nirvana grade for everything. Their menu is hardcore, with traditional maccha caps, beautiful Nirvana lattes and wicked traditional pure maccha that are so full and smooth it is intense. Our Chasen at the Louvre Museum in Paris, France

We just received word that Masaki Kubo's masterpeices are on display at the Louvre in Paris, France. What an honour. His chasen are absolutely magnificent and this display is a wonderful testamount to his skill and aesthetic. Congratulations Mr. Kubo!

November Fellowship Went Awesome!

The November Session (14!) of the Fellowship of the Maccha, held at Khona, went wonderfully! Every person there seemed super keen on learning about "How to Destroy Your Tea". They listened to Miyu and I talk about the fragility and wine-like qualities of tea.

The big 5: moisture, heat, oxygen, strong odours, and light. They destroy your tea!

Everyone is welcome to the next Fellowship of the Maccha, session 15, where we will bake maccha cookies and make maccha honey lemon americanos. Yum.

The Broadmead Bakery Christmas Preview Bash

So much good food, good drink, and so many happy people at the Broadmead Bakery's first (soon to be annual) Christmas Preview. They featured all their new seasonal baked goods at an after hours party, complete with beautiful jazz music and me and Miyu serving up some maccha! The good boys of Oughtred were also out pulling shots for the party and it was a whirlwind of a night. We went home with a care package of sweets to absolutely die for and highly recommend going to the Broadmead Bakery the next time you are in Broadmead Village.

2% Jazz Training Session Was Kewl

The good people at 2% Jazz, minus Sean the sellout (yeah, Sean, I am calling you a sellout!) got together with us here at JagaSilk and held an advanced level training session. We showed them the video of Masaki Kubo handcutting a chasen that we took in Nara last August, and the tour of the stone grinding facility in Uji. They all tweaked their technique, tasted Dragonfly, got creative with Crane (hah!) and managed to get though the session without hurting anyone seriously. There was some green teeth and some positively wicked microfoam.

Khona Releases Full Out Maccha Tasting Opportunity

We are awesomely excited to have Khona offering traditional maccha using any grade of JagaSilk you like. They are serving Organic Happy Grade, Organic Butterfly Grade, Organic Dragonfly Grade, Green Grade, Nirvana Grade, and Crane Flies Above the Clouds.

So cool!!!!!

It is displayed right next to the cash register on a salvaged Garry Oak log display crafted by local Victoria wood artisan, Jess Williams. If you order Crane, make sure it is made by one of the 5 Macchartists at Khona!

Training Session at the Broadmead Bakery Went Awesome!

We just got back from a wonderful training session with the good people of the Broadmead Bakery in Broadmead Village. The crew and owners are always super nice and today was no exception! We went through the cuppings and knowledge and preparation, even briefly touching on artisan milk. They all did great. If you are in the area, stop in and ask for an organic Maccha Cappuccino! Delicious and smooth!

We will be seeing them again for their Christmas Preview Open House in November on the 12th.

JagaSilk Releases Cracked Pottery Chawan

Introducing Cracked Pottery by Ota! Ota is local to Victoria, yet Japanese. His glocal artistry has enabled gorgeous chawan to be created. His cracked style is unique to him yet based on a traditional Japanese style that allows the flavours of the tea to gradually soak into the pottery and flavour your tea more and more deeply with time. A must for the maccha connoisseur, and a perfect complement to the one hundred year ld signature smoked bamboo chasen.

There are two types:

JagaSilk.com Returns!

After a weekend of design flurry in Vancouver with our friends at www.easy-shoponline.net, JagaSilk.com is up! We have redesigned it so that we can actually update it! YES! (This may sound weird, but damn if isn't hard to get a good updatable website going)

There will be a much more active NEWS section, a wicked WHERE AVAILABLE section, and eventually a real store!

Peace!

PS If you want your own website like this one, please contact info@easy-shoponline.net
